Obama acknowledges he should have said 'opponents' instead of 'enemies' to describe those on the other side of the ideological aisle.


I guess Obama's original comment is a twist of sorts of Kinsley's definition of a gaffe, someone saying the truth by accident.

For to Obama, we are not merely opponents, conservatives are the enemy... and Obama called it like he sees it.

And as Boehner says, this is troubling, Obama using the word to describe conservatives yet unwilling to use it to describe those who are trying to kill us.
