The Good Professor thinks it is an embarrassment for China. Maybe it is, but it's a bigger embarrassment for the French government who failed to protect the Olympic torch as it made its way through Paris. Thousands of French police on hand, and they couldn't keep the protesters away from the Olympic flame as it made its way through the streets of Paris? C'mon, how tough can that be?
Note: apparently, the authorities were the ones who extinguished the flame, supposedly in order to protect the flame from the protesters. Even so, with 'thousands' of police around, why was that necessary? Couldn't the police have protected the flame the old-fashioned way, by keeping protesters away?
