While I'm certainly happy to see that the US is stepping up its attacks on terrorists hiding out in Pakistan, I'm bothered by the report that the number of attacks is increasing because we want to "inflict as much damage to Al Qaeda" before Pakistan's new leadership scales back their support for military operations against Al Qaeda. This suggests that we could have been striking at Al Qaeda but have chosen not to, a clear breach of Bush's vow to wage an unrelenting war against terrorists.
