With House Democrats willing (eager, even) to let the legal authority for the intelligence community to collect foreign intelligence expire tomorrow night, if Bush truly believed this to be detrimental to America's national security, he ought to ask the intelligence community to ignore the ban, to continue doing their valuable work and pre-emptively issue a full and complete pardon to the intelligence community for any violations of civil or criminal law resulting from their doing so.
Sure, the Democrats and their anti-American allies would scream... but America would surely appreciate the efforts that Bush and the intelligence community have taken and are taking in order to help keep America safe from harm. And what better way to illustrate the depths to which the anti-American Democrats have sunk? |
