While I applaud the idea of banning investment in Iran, as Schwarzenegger just did, since when did conservatives decide it was all right for state governments to start conducting foreign policy?

If we didn't like it when liberal states such as Massachusetts were trying their hand at this type of thing 30 years ago we shouldn't be applauding it now. It ought not matter that the target this time is Iran, which most sane people would agree needs to be pressured to behave, as opposed to the countries the misguided liberals have targeted over the years. What matters is that the President is the one empowered to act on our behalf and everybody else ought to stay home and out of sight.
