I would have made the point a bit differently than GOP Congressman Darrell Issa, but in all the fuss over Blackwater, there's a point not being made: these are Americans protecting other Americans and ANYTHING that diminishes their ability to do so directly endangers American lives, whether that of the Blackwater security forces or the American politicians and American State Department functionaries they're protecting.

Reading of the screaming coming from Democrats such as Waxman and so on, one needs to keep in mind that they're less concerned about keeping Americans alive from the threats they face in Iraq than they are in taking shots at the Administration and anything and anyone that can be tied to Iraq. All you have to know is that Waxman isn't complaining that too many Americans are dying because of Blackwater, he's really complaining that not enough Americans are...
