In yet another (unfortunate) example of the Bush Administration's incompetence, it turns out that they've been releasing detainees from Guantanamo who have, contrary to the supposedly thorough investigation, turned out to have indeed been terrorists... and who, surprise, have returned to trying to kill Americans as soon as they were released. It apparently comes as a surprise to our counter-intelligence officers that other inmates might actually lie to them by telling them that terrorists were simply innocent farmers caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I'm sure you all have heard the expression "better ten guilty go free than one innocent be wrongly convicted".... well, I don't know about you, but when it comes to detainees suspected of terrorism, I would much rather have ten innocents rot in jail than have a single terrorist mistakenly released from custody.

Interestingly, the Bush Administration has revealed details about some of these terrorists, not to fess up and admit their incompetence, but in an attempt to derail Democratic efforts to close Guantanamo. But what difference does it make where the detainees are kept if our ever-diligent Administration is simply going to release them anyway?

And if the Democrats truly supported the troops, instead of only pretending to in order to attack Bush, they wouldn't be demanding that we close Guantanamo, they'd be complaining that it's not big enough.
