Cheney and Rice can try to spin it all they want, but Tony Blair's decision to start pulling British troops out of Iraq is not, as Cheney claims, a 'positive sign' and is, despite Rice's claims, a sign the coalition is indeed crumbling.

Blair is pulling his troops out even though the fight is not yet won. Sure, things might be somewhat peaceful in southern Iraq, but Iraq as a whole is a pretty messed up place. Wouldn't it stand to reason that if Blair was still committed to the cause, he would redeploy his troops from where they weren't needed to where they were needed... but not pull them out altogether?
