Michelle Malkin reports that the Army has no record of alleger of war crimes Jesse MacBeth ever being a soldier.

As I've been commenting over at QandO, it is ridiculous that it took this long for the Defense Department to get its act together and look into MacBeth. One of the reasons - perhaps the major reason - the American people are so pessimistic about what is going on in Iraq is the number of lies and misperceptions being spread by the MSM and critics of the war such as Jesse MacBeth. And it is critically important that DoD do its absolute best to correct the lies being spread about our troops. To not do so is an injustice to those serving honorably over there, it also saps the public's support for them.

And while I wish Bush had long ago pulled our troops out, if he is going to keep them there he needs to do everything in his power to support them... and that doesn't mean the occasional field trip. It means having the Defense Department look into each and every allegation of wrongdoing that is made... and when it turns out that the person making an allegation has no factual support for that claim, then DoD needs to take the bat off their shoulder and smack the likes of Jesse MacBeth upside their head... as fast and as hard as they possibly can.
