It's 1AM and Jack and friends are screwed.... time for another episode of 24isms...

* The 24ism of the night: Henderson giving up his insurance policy (the tape recording) to an, as of now, unindentified, person on or near the plane Jack just snuck onto. Keep in mind that, supposedly, just a few hours ago, nobody knew that Evelyn had the tape recording in the first place... yet Henderson has just the place to take it?

* The contingency plan to shoot Secretary Heller if Henderson didn't call in every 15 minutes. Henderson wasn't planning on being captured. Heck, if the helicopter was available to track Heller, why not have the helicopter pick up Henderson?

* Assuming Henderson had the resources, why not kill Heller outright, why track him using a helicopter that presumably could have used elsewhere (like trying to find and kill Jack)? Heller knew of the phone call. While he didn't have the tape, he was still a rather loose cannon, so why not just go ahead and kill him?

* The crew onboard the helicopter (a minimum of pilot plus sniper) that was tracking Heller, where did they come from? We saw the (a?) helicopter land at the Van Nuys airport during the previous episode and discharge its payload of crack paramilitary assassins. We also saw Jack kill a number of the assassins. It also appears that Jack had killed everybody who got off the helicopter, as nobody was bothering him while he was playing doctor with Audrey. So, either the helicopter took off from the airport (but when, as we never saw or heard it take off?) again or Henderson had two helicopters. If the helicopter took off, either it hadn't offloaded everybody else or it went to wherever Henderson kept his replacement team.

* How did the helicopter know where to come looking for Henderson? And not just the general area, but the exact location?

* Audrey seemed to have run into a dead end in the building... so how did Curtis come up behind her?

* And, speaking of Curtis, how did he and his team get into the building without Henderson's helicopter assault team noticing? By their ETA, they would have got there after the helicopter (as an aside, remember when, in an earlier episode, Curtis got to the rendevous faster than Jack did in a helicopter?)... yet nobody in the helicopter would have seen the team drive up?

* Still no explanation for how Logan learned his wife and Aaron Pierce were heading off to meet. Was he having Pierce followed? If so, by who? Pierce was somewhat of an agent in charge. So somehow, Logan co-opted the Secret Service agents under Pierce... and not one of them spilled the beans?

* And since Logan seems to have his goons at the Presidential compound, why didn't they just deal with Evelyn there? Why not grab her on the grounds and torture her into telling them where the tape was? Why bring in Henderson? Shouldn't he have been trying to get Bauer?

* Notice Logan referred to Henderson as "Chris"? Ah, familiarity.

* Myles, the Homeland Security weenie, is not only a crack administrator ("2 hours ahead of schedule, Karen!), he also speaks binary code?

* One of the limos at the airport had a French flag, the other a British flag. We're to presume there are foreign dignitaries hanging around an LA-area airport (just how many LA-area airports are within a couple miles of the Van Nuys airport anyway?) and there's been nary a mention of it during the previous 18 hours of this day?

* The 24ism that is something not happening that one would expect to happen on 24: how many gunfights can Jack be involved with without CTU getting word of the shooting? Jack blew up the fuel truck last week, yet CTU didn't get a report of it? in fact, nobody came out to investigate?

* And why would dignitaries be leaving an airport in the middle of the night anyway? Other than, of course, to get Henderson's tape of Logan's phone call safely out of harm's way?

* And it seems that Logan has helpers after all. Of course, they've remained silent and off screen the entire time, EVEN THOUGH THE MUSLIM TERRORISTS WERE GOING TO USE THE GAS IN LA? Wouldn't Logan have wanted to use his team to find the nerve gas? As neurotic as he was "YOU HAVE TO FIND THE NERVE GAS!!!!", he wasn't so nervous that he was going to call in the first team?

* And while it appears that Cummings didn't commit suicide (a 24ism from long ago: why would Cummings commit suicide when he would have thought the he could have blackmailed Logan into pardoning him?), it doesn't change the 24ism of Logan having Cummings think he was running the operation, without Logan knowing (why would Logan have needed Cummings to be involved, he had his secret team of helpers?).

* And finally, the thought just occured to me: Logan set up this plan a while ago to get the nerve gas to the terrorists so Logan could somehow ensure our 'oil security'. The plan has blown up big time, the terrorists are dead, the nerve gas is gone... yet Logan doesn't seem to be all that put out by this.

Last week's 24isms are here...
