The Bush Administration is always being charged with trying to 'time' the release of bad news to minimize the fallout... maybe they do, maybe they don't.
But I guess one could say the same about the Democrats, with their announcement yesterday that Alan Mollohan, the ranking Democrat on the House Ethics Committee, is stepping down from his post to deal with charges that he hasn't been playing by the rules. What's the likelihood that this is going to be the main talking point on the Sunday talk circuit and not the story about traitor Mary McCarthy being fired from her job at the CIA for leaking classified information to the Washington Post?
