From LaShawn comes bad news for Harry Potter fans...

According to LaShawn, JK Rowling has already written the final chapter of the seventh book, in advance of her writing the rest of the book.

Well, a big problem for George Lucas in Star Wars I - III was his need to make the first chapters line up with what the audience knew came afterwards. As a result, there was way too much garbage and wasted scenes where Lucas was trying to fill up space and come up with plot twists that would keep the audience happy but weren't inconsistent with Star Wars IV - VI (can anyone imagine Lucas coming up with JarJar Binks (sp?) were it not for his need to fill screen time?

It's fine that Rowling has an end in mind for the series... but a story ought to flow from chapter to chapter and it's darn hard to work backwards from the end without losing a whole lot of the flow of the story...

Then again, maybe Rowling is just a better storyteller than is Lucas and all will work out fine...

Then again, maybe Rowling's audience is far less critical and easier to please than the geeks who overanalyze each and every line of the Star Wars films...
