A week or so ago, my older daughter's school sent home a pamphlet covering a survey the school system is planning on giving to middle school kids and giving parents the opportunity to 'opt out' of having their kid participate. The survey is full of what I'll call 'lifestyle' questions: questions about their sexual activity, whether they're thinking about suicide, and so on.
To me, a moderate according to LaShawn, but conservative to just about everybody else, there is NO reason whatsoever a school district ought to be asking questions like these. There is no connection between this survey and what the schools are supposed to be doing with your kids and the tax dollars that pay their salaries (hint, for those of you who don't know: teaching the kids math, reading, science, history and so on).
On the other hand, to a liberal (which is what the school systems are full of, even in the red states), there's nothing wrong with surveys like this.
