According to the WSJ, Woodward finally fessed up to his editors at the Post "late last month" about having a two+ year old conversation with a source in which the source told him about Valerie Plame. The WSJ also reports that Woodward's source came forward on November 3rd to inform Fitzgerald of their two-year old discussion with Woodward.

This timeline supports my thinking that Woodward's source is someone sympathetic to Libby and that they came forward in order to undercut some of Fitzgerald's allegations against Libby.

And this is why that I don't believe Woodward's source is either Powell or Tenet. Neither of them ought to be thought of as sympathetic to anyone in Cheney's corner (or Rumsfeld's, for that matter).
