Haven't we learned anything?

Residents of the Florida Keys have been advised to evacuate in advance of another hurricane, yet there is no word of buses being commandeered to get out those people who are unable to get out on their own. There is no word on FEMA moving to take charge of this looming disaster and usurping the role and responsibility of local and state officials. There is no word on food and supplies being stockpiled in the targeted areas for use after the storm passes in order to keep victims from having to resort to cannibalism in order to stay alive, nor word of National Guard troops being pre-positioned to be able to move in as soon as the storm passes to keep 7 year-olds from having their throats slit, shoot looters and maintain order in the chaos that will surely result.

Sure, this isn't a Category 5 storm approaching... but neither is it New Orleans that lies in the path of the storm.... it's Florida, which the last time I checked, seemed to have competent people in charge of handling the local and state response to natural disasters.

Maybe that explains why there is no APB being put out to locate all the local police that plan on walking off the job as soon as the storm hits...
