Jay at Wizbang links to a story of a man who pulled a gun on a bunch of drunken frat boys who he alleged were keeping his twin daughters from leaving a frat party. As the father of two daughters, I'm reminded of a couple of things...my favorite scene from the movie Clueless, where Dan Hedaya, playing Alicia Silverstone's father, advises the young man taking her out "I have a .45 and a shovel. No one will miss you"... and my dad saying the reason he didn't have a gun was that he would probably use it if anybody hurt one of my sisters.
Even more of a blunder than getting involved in a land war in Asia is getting between a father and his daughter(s). You don't tug on Superman's cape, you don't even look at my daughter the wrong way. I actually give the dad some credit for not opening fire on those idiots... |
