We're not being consistent, people....

So now the House of Representatives (and presumably) the Senate want to make a federal case out of Terry Schiavo... What ever happened to the concept of a minimalistic, non-intrusive federal government? What about the idea of state's rights? Look, as conservatives, we assailed efforts to make a federal case out of many, many things during the Clinton years... the Violence Against Women, the anti-gun laws and so on. We were right then, we are wrong now. Just because we don't like the way things stand with Schiavo does NOT make it right to do what Congress is looking to do. And if you don't see this, you're no different from the Democrats... you just get upset over different things.
