Bill at INDC Journal links to a Washington Times op-ed which suggests that Thornburgh was prevented by fiduciary limitations (he is a partner in Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham LLP, which represents CBS) from acknowedging that political bias drove the CBS story... Actually, much depends on the scope and of CBS's engagement of Thornburgh's law firm - if CBS gave Thornburgh free reign to investigate and report, then no such limitations would have applied. If, on the other hand, CBS gave Thornburgh a much less open assignment, then the limitations may very well have hamstrung Thornburgh's ability to acknowledge what so many of us believe to be the truth.

So, in response to Jim Geraghty's question what do we do now?, I suggest asking that CBS disclose the terms of the Kirpatrick & Lockhart's assignment...
