Sure, the last three Democrats to become President were from the South, but let's not confuse symptoms with the cause (or is it better to say cause and effect?). Rather than focusing on geography, I think it would be more descriptive to say that the last three Democrats who were elected President were Democrats who were NOT seen by voters as high tax, values-trashing, elitist snobs... and who may have just not coincidentally been from the South.

Neil Pollack's advice to not f*** the South is good advice, although I would think it would be better to say, don't f*** the voters who care about values, low taxes and don't think some Ivy-league intellectual and the rest of her village is just what the doctor ordered...
